The F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) combines application delivery and security into one platform, reducing the need to stitch together point products. Teams can deploy, secure, and optimize applications and APIs across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments with consistent policy, visibility, and control.
With the ADSP Partner Program, we’re partnering to create joint solutions aligned to specific customer outcomes, turnkey deployments that speed adoption of F5 ADSP, and pre-validation integrations to shorten deployment time and reduce risk.
Since we launched the partner program last November, one area where we’ve found the program is providing immediate value is through validated certificate lifecycle management integrations (CLM) with third-party solutions that simplify multicloud operations, strengthen security, and accelerate application delivery.
To date, 12 CLM integrations with eight partners have been validated by the F5 ADSP Partner Program. By implementing these pre-validated integrations, customers are doing everything from automating certificate renewals to speeding their post-quantum cryptography (PQC) readiness.
“Through the F5 ADSP Partner Program, customers can adopt proven integrations faster and with less guesswork, while building repeatable operational workflows that reduce their security risk.”
Partnering to help customers with their certificate lifecycle management challenges
TLS certificates are essential for trust and encryption but managing them end-to-end is getting harder as the industry shifts toward shorter certificate lifetimes, as low as 47 days by 2029. Manual processes that worked with long-lived certificates can’t keep up, increasing the risk of missed renewals, outages, misconfigurations, and compliance issues.
Through the ADSP Partner Program, ADSP integrates with leading CLM solutions to automate renewals and deployment to F5 BIG-IP using API or traffic management shell (TMSH) workflows, with support for consistent operations across on-premises, hybrid, and multicloud environments.
Helping customers accelerate their PQC readiness
For example, one F5 customer, a retail organization running critical services behind F5 BIG-IP, previously renewed TLS certificates manually. As certificate lifetimes shrink, overlapping renewals and missed change windows increase the risk of an expired-certificate outage—an unacceptable risk for revenue-critical or mission-critical traffic.
In parallel, the organization began planning its PQC transition by adopting F5 ADSP PQC-readiness solutions, including NIST‑approved post‑quantum key encapsulation mechanisms (KEMs) supported in BIG-IP. Quantum-safe certificates are next in line, reflecting ongoing support for evolving TLS policies that require crypto agility. The result is the ability to update certificates, algorithms, and configurations quickly and consistently across environments.
After implementation of a validated CLM integration with BIG-IP via API/TMSH automation, the organization achieved several benefits:
- Automated renewals and deployment: Certificates renew on schedule and are pushed to the correct BIG-IP SSL profiles automatically, with validation steps that reduce misconfigurations.
- Reduced outage and audit risk: Fewer manual handoffs, more consistent change execution, and improved traceability for compliance.
- An automation path for PQC transition: The same workflow used for frequent renewals can also be used to roll out PQC-ready (including hybrid) certificates, rotate certificates safely, and enforce updated TLS policies without one-off, high-risk manual changes.
The result has been both immediate and forward-looking: fewer certificate-related outages and less operational toil today, plus a practical foundation for PQC migration as cryptographic requirements evolve.
Adopting proven integrations with less guesswork
This is one example of the value of the ADSP Partner Program: customers can adopt proven integrations faster and with less guesswork, while building repeatable operational workflows that do everything from automate certificate lifecycle management to increase their PQC readiness.
